Perfect long-distance pack
Wednesday, 19 August 2015  |

I've just got back from 2 months walking in the Scandinavian mountains with this pack, and I can honestly say it was one of the absolute winners in terms of the gear that I took.

It was a full 5 kilos lighter than my previous pack, and though I thought the 70L capacity might be a little on the small side, it turned out to be the perfect size for carrying all my gear for an extended trip (plus, on occasion, up to 2 weeks of food). It was very comfortable, and durable enough to withstand the rough treatment of the trail (I worried that the lightness of the pack might mean it was a bit fragile, but that wasn't the case at all).

In terms of niggles, transforming the top pocket into a 'buddy pocket' by putting the zip on the wrong side is a little annoying (not everyone walks with a buddy, after all), and the quick release chest strap is a bit fiddly to do up, but really these are minor quibbles with what I genuinely found to be an excellent expedition pack.

Service from Backpackinglight was of course as good as ever. Always a pleasure to do business with you!

Checking it out!
Tuesday, 4 November 2014  |

The rucksack seems OK at the moment.
A lot lighter than the other well known makes at this capacity. The only problem, I seem to see is it only has 1 closer for the top lid! OK if the pack is full but when not could leak water.

I have not tried it but looks good. Time will tell! Backpacking next week in the Scottish Highlands
