Manufacturers comments Our proprietary hollow fibre membrane filters are small, portable, easy-to-use, reliable, inexpensive, and can last a decade without needing to be replaced. Our filters are certified for ABSOLUTE microns making it impossible for harmful bacteria, protozoa, or cysts like E. coli, Giardia, Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella typhi (which cause Cholera and Typhoid) to pass through. With the technology derived from kidney dialysis, we partnered with a fiber manufacturer to actually improve the hollow fiber membrane technology. In order to improve both the filtration rates and longevity of the filter, our team was dedicated to engineering something even more precise and rugged. To make it a superior solution, the fiber composition had to deliver exactly 0.1 & 0.02 micron filtration 100% of the time to ensure no bacteria would get through. Moreover, the membranes had to be sturdy enough to withstand backwashing which allows the filter to be cleaning and reused. Our proprietary water filters are comprised of tiny “U” shaped micro-tubes that allow water to enter into their core through minuscule micro-pores. Contaminates get trapped in the tubes while the decontaminated water passes freely through. The high number of those tiny tubes and their significant surface area allow the filter to have one of the fastest flow rates available in the world. This high flow rate makes our filters easily utilized as point-of-use solutions, which has eliminated the need to store water – one of the leading causes of contaminated water throughout the world. Each Sawyer filter is certified for ABSOLUTE microns; that means there is no pore size larger than 0.1 micron in size. This makes it impossible for harmful bacteria, protozoa, or cysts like E. coli, Giardia, Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella typhi (which cause Cholera and Typhoid) to pass through the Sawyer PointONE™ biological filter. At 7 log (99.99999%) the filter attains the highest level of filtration available today. Sawyer’s revolutionary technology has also been tested and verified by the United Nations, and is currently being used in more than 70 countries around the world. Sawyer’s filters are so powerful, they could not actually be used for kidney dialysis anymore, as they would now remove beneficial particulates from human blood. They’ve been field tested for years by dozens of companies, professionals and are solving the global water crisis for hundreds of thousands of individuals internationally. When it comes to ensuring the safety of those who have trusted us to provide the most advanced solutions on the market, nothing less than 100% is good enough. All Sawyer Hollow Fiber Membrane filters are small, portable, easy-to-use, reliable, inexpensive, and can last a lifetime without needing to be replaced.

12 October 2017 | Barry Although I haven't as yet had an opportunity to test the Mini Filter 'in the field' I am very impressed with its size, weight and simplicity, and I feel totally confident that I will have no issues with it. - I trek very light, and sometimes I've been criticised for not carrying enough water because of the weight, and yes, occasionally I've been caught out although not seriously. But now (in this country at least), I feel confident that I can still continue to pack light without feeling anxious. - Once again, super-fast delivery and attention from 'Backpackinglight'. - Many thanks, Barry Davies. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
09 October 2017 | Timothy Almost certainly the best filter available at the moment for smallness, lightness of weight, longevity (helped by the back flushing feature), in-line capability, and overall versatility as a result of the package of items that comes with it. 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

16 February 2015 | Stephen Service excellent as usual, not used the filter yet but all looks like a very flexible and usable bit of kit. I'm going to put it inline on the camelbak. 1 of 3 people found this review helpful.
28 January 2015 | Elton This my second Sawyer Mini as I was daft enough to allow my first one to freeze on my last trip out. Although the unit still worked fine there is no way of knowing whether the filter has been damaged to the point that it will no longer filter undesirables out of the water. 7 of 7 people found this review helpful.
16 December 2014 | Nick Good kit, limits the amount of water you need to carry. Excellent service too This review has not been appraised.

12 October 2014 | Ken This was a last minute purchase (in an endeavour to lighten my load a little more!) just before I did Wainwright's Coast to Coast walk and words cannot describe how pleased I am - it's an incredible piece of kit, does exactly what it says on the box and is worth every penny of the (remarkably low) price. I did find that filling the bladder by simply holding it under the surface of Ennerdale Water and Griosewdale Tarn somewhat difficult - probably because the bladder is quite stiff - but easily remedied - I had a plastic 500 ml "dirty water" bottle so I filled that first and then poured the contents into bladder. Sorted. That notwithstanding, I thoroughly recommend this item. As ever the service from Backpacking Light was outstanding. Thank you. 4 of 4 people found this review helpful.
