The heat output from certain alcohol and wood burning stoves, depending on the form of the stove shape can sometimes be forced to spread up the 'outside' of the pan which can be a waste of fuel.
Using a trivet, which sits on top of the stove and lifts the base of the pan another 15mm, can mean the heat output is more focussed on the base of the pot rather than the side.
This can be specifically true for smaller cooking mugs or narrow pots.
The additional advantage, (depending on the individual heat source) can be that you could dispense with larger cooking sets, and just use the heat source, the trivet and a windshield for the purity of minimum weight.
I have looked a variety of products on the market and taken as many measurements as possible to see if I could make a universal shape which would add a positive feature to the heat source.
The result appears to work with 90% of the stoves I have been able to try and the below measurements give an indication if the trivet with fit yours.
Trivet max width 98mm Pan height raised 15mm Distance between inner 'stop' 37mm Distance between outer 'stop' 72mm Distance between outer edge 'stop' 80mm
Currently this has been tested to work with the following and I hope customers will add to this list as the knowledge base expands;
