The Versa quilt offers good 650+ insulation in a simple rectangular form.
The main features are a good foot box about 30 cm deep and a side draught baffle. In the double quilt, this foot box is sticthed in the centre to prevent it from unfolding, which means warm feet and you can still play footsie.
There are 7 toggles on either side which are designed to work with the Exped Slit Line system, however normal cord or shock could can be used instead along with any of the plastic clips already on the market to hold the quilt in place.
This would enable you to release the toggle to give you more movement, or reach for something.
Side sleepers who move around a lot will need to ensure the quilt is kept in place somehow, so some kind of cord system is recommended.
Naturally you also need to consider your sleeping mats and the distance they are apart within your shelter. Which ever cord system you use, will keep the mats close and increase the body heat which will be trapped.
The biggest key feature here is the width of the duo quilt which is very wide for two people. This is ideal for the larger user, or someone who likes to drape the quilt over them and have plenty of material to spare.
There is no neck baffle or any included system to enable you to create a ‘closed’ sleeping bag by connecting the sides together.
The 650+ fill put it in the category of 2/3 season. I can see outdoor festival users, world travellers, cycle tourers and lightweight backpackers getting good use from this.
Equally useable for couch surfing as much as camping during the summer, or sitting around the campfire.
Or you could use it to ‘up rate’ your current sleeping system when travelling through far colder environments.
PS: Beans not included!
The Versa Quilt is a down filled comforter with a cozy footbox ideal for summer adventures or evenings out on the porch. Made for those who prefer to sleep under a lightweight and roomy blanket. Available in one- and two-person versions.
Toggles along the perimeter for integration with an Exped sleeping mat sheet (from 2017 onwards). Fold-drybag stuffsack and a storage bag included.
