It might look slightly unusual when compared to other quilts on the market, however the same features offer quite a lot of options to cover most temperatures.
Firstly, there are 7 connection toggles down each side and although they are designed with work with the Exped Slit Line system, there’s no reason you can’t replace this with shock cord or normal cord and any of the many plastic clips already on the market
This would enable you to release the toggle to give you more movement, or reach for something.
Side sleepers who move around a lot will need to ensure the quilt is kept in place somehow, so some kind of cord system is recommended..
The foot box is well insulated and is about 30 cm deep. There's a deep draught baffle running along both sides.
The down filled hood has 3 adjusters to vary the tension around the neck and face to ensure you keep the maximum amount of heat in.
Due to the location of the hood on the quilt, the excess material naturally falls over your shoulders, thus eliminating the cold spots. The combination of this means you don’t have to consider taking additional shoulder/head gear to keep warm.
However should you wish not to use the hood and just throw the quilt over you, the adjusters allow you to pack it out of place and the bulk is reduced. Naturally pulling the adjusters tight (on the inside and on the outside) will also close the hole completely, reducing colds spots and draughts on your chest.
While taking these photos we found the ‘quilt loft’ was very impressive and the insulation properties were first class.
At just over 500gm, with 800+ fill, this is a top quality quilt for lightweight adventurers.
