Emergency Bivvy Bags are generally a nuisance when you are at home packing your rucksack aren't they?

You know you might need one, and would regret it if you never had one in the pack, however usually the weight and bulk of the old fashion heavy duty plastic bags does make you wonder why no one has produced something more in keeping with the lightweight philosophy.

I saw this a trade show last year and knew right away this would be a very popular little number.

Technically you can rely on it as it reflects up to 90% of radiated body heat. As the Thermo-Lite non-woven fabric is waterproof and windproof it means it is also tougher, quieter and considerably less bulky than the traditional survival sack. You can see from the image just how small it is in my hand and it weighs only 110gm

Two great advantages I consider to be very important, is that (a) the material is very quiet, so if you want to you could use it as a tent footprint (and not sound like you were sleeping on crisp packets), and (b) you can pack it away down to the original size you see here 'after' use. Something which is impossible with the traditional plastic bag.

All in all, the perfect bivvy bag. Great to know you have one when you need it, small enough not to bulk out your pack unnecessarily.

Perfect for the year round hiker, cyclists, adventure racers and people driving through snow in the winter!

Spot On!

I was on the lookout for a compact and lightweight bivvy to carry with me on long distance off road runs and ultra marathon races. This product is ideal - it really is as small as in the picture and weighs virtually nothing! Absolutely delighted with it - well worth the money. Delivery was prompt with no issues and the handwritten note was a nice touch. I would definitely use this company again.

Light and Tiny

I haven't had to use this emergency bivvy bag yet - thank goodness that is exactly what its for - but it is reassuring to have it in my bag. It is tiny and light and so I wouldn't consider leaving it behind on big uphill days of ski touring

Survival bivvie bag
Monday, 24 October 2016  |

After the old fashioned heavy polly bags this is amazing. It's so small and light but at least as efficient. It comes in a tiny bag which has room for a pack of survival matches, some solid fuel tablets and a compass and whistle. But will still easily fit in a side pocket of a rucksack. It's fantastic.

Amazing lightweight insurance
Monday, 18 July 2016  |

Years ago I had heavy & bulky polythene emergency survival bags - so it's shocking to find something that does the same job in such a tiny, light package. Hopefully never have to use it, but it will be there, unnoticed in my bag. Highly recommended!
