"Ounce for ounce one of the best pieces of outdoor kit you can carry" - Trail magazine June 2002
High tenacity nylon gives this shelter greater tear and abrasion resistance and is lighter and has a smaller pack size than the 'classic' model.
I took one of these recently into the hills to see just how effective they were, as I've always had my doubts as to their usefulness. Normally as a solo, I carry a Rab Survival Zone bivi bag, but have in occasions been caught out with bad weather and found the bivi-bag of no use at a rest stop when all I wanted was to get out of the weather to eat something.
Ideal for one or two, the relief is immediate inside this little shelter. With 2 inside it warms up inside 10 minutes and as you would expect with these products, condensation starts to form in 15 minutes or so, even though it has a good sized vent. As a solo, I certainly would have used this over the years on numerous occasions.

If the trip looks like a long one this now sits by my bag ready to go. I have heard of a few people using these to sleep in when their tent has taken flight, and although not the most comfortable accommodation, at least they lived to tell the tale!
We used it in Scotland this year and it was great to get out the wind for a brew. It also doubled as a footprint for the tent. We will definately be taking it again!Features
