I used mine in boggy water during the hot weather while walking the Cape Wrath Trail early last year. Rose used her in Horse Troughs and moats, when in France on a riding holiday. Much to the horror and astonishment of the locals!
Our daughters used them in India and Peru, when dubious water was all that was available. Customers traveling in Gambia, the Alps and the outback have used them. We've even had one customer keep a load of kids sane and hydrated, when their boat got stuck in a river in Africa when their engine broke down.
So take it from us, certification aside, these filters are proven to work. Not a single customer from last years 1000's of purchases became ill from any water borne disease.
So now we have the 2009 model with us which uses the same proven filter, with a new name 'The Travel Tap'.
Improvements over the last design include;

When you first get the bottle, flush it through three times to clean out the filter after manufacture.
Use it to supply other water reservoir bottle systems, additionally for safe re-hydrating, irrigating eyes and flushing wounds, or drink immediately.
Tested to over 1600 litres, with auto shut down when filter life ends.
The Travel Tap will ALWAYS remove bacteria , protozoa and viruses for the life of the filter . Flow rate will diminish over time especially if sourcing unclear water - Simply allow to settle first for 10 minutes if using - before pouring into Travel Tap bottle.

NB: Only filter water preferably from running non-saline watercourse.
