We are thrilled, flattered and inspired that Evernew Japan have chosen us to be their retail partners in the UK for Evernew Titanium Products.
The newest and most exciting of which is this new Ultralight Alcohol Titanium burner and associated Titanium DX Stand.
It is hard to describe these items as individual pieces, as they are designed to work together to form a super light, super efficient, multi fuel burner system for the backpacker anywhere in the world.
The burner is a twin hole unit and is supplied with no windshield or support etc. One set of burner holes is on the top of the burner and the other set, lower down.
Slightly smaller in diameter than the Trangia, in that it will sit in a Trangia burner hole with a bit of play. The twin burning holes allow the unit to sit 'beneath' a pot (with a gap between burner and pot base, such as the DX Stand) or, once the unit has 'bloomed' (approximately 30-45 seconds) you can place the pot directly onto the burner. This naturally blocks the upper set of holes and slows down the performance of the unit.
In use on its own I tried it with a Ti-Lite Mug containing 500ml of cold tap water and it brought this to the boil in approximately 10-12 mins. (This performance improves with the simplest of windshields and if you were to not use the companion DX Stand, we would suggest our lightweight foil as the perfect extra)
However, when you use this in combination with the DX Stand, and so both sets of burn holes are in use, this same exercise is speeded up to 6-7 mins. Which is pretty impressive for 500ml!
It has 1 fl oz and 2 fl oz and 30 ml and 60 ml measurements inside the burner as a guide which is useful. The maximum marked capacity is 70ml and this will provide a burn time in the region of 15 mins. (When the pot is placed directly on the burner, this burn time increases to 30 mins+)
It is also a devil to blow out. Virtually impossible. Even if you do manage to do this, there is no way of extracting any remaining fuel from the burner, so you are best advised to guestimate just how much you need and let it do the job. Of course a pot cosy system will be an excellent way to maximise the cook time of any fuel you take with you.
It is ideal for the narrower pots, such as the T-i-Lite mug and others, as the spread of the flames is fairly minimal. Again with the DX Stand, you have the ability to work with any pot wider than 85mm. Without the DX Stand you could just get away with a minimal pot width of 75mm.
The unit is beautifully made, you can tell with attention to detail which Evernew have become well known for over the years. Each item is hand made I understand and this ensures the best results and the highest quality control.
The grade of Titanium is much higher than other Titanium based stoves on the market. In short this is the Rolls-Royce of Titanium Alcohol burners, and something which will probably last for so long that you will leave it for future generations to enjoy!
The additional DX Stand adds a whole new dimension to this burner, providing not only pot support, wind shield, but also wood burning capability.
Finally as a working system, the whole unit DX Stand and Burner, will folding into itself and store in the base of the Ti-Lite mug and only take up 50% of the space!
Do have a read of the blog Fenlander, who has been testing this system for a short while.
Impressed? Yes very much so. I find it very hard to find anything negative about it, and this unit will probably be my cooker of choice during my forthcoming trips in the UK and mainland Europe.
Test results;
1) Burner filled with 70ml meths. 500 ml cold water in Ti-Lite Mug placed directly on burner after 30 second bloom. Rolling boil 12 mins, total burn time 30 mins+. Slight breeze, chilled air, windshield used.
2) Burner filled with 70ml meths. 500 ml cold water in Ti-Lite Mug. Burner placed inside DX Stand. Lit and pot placed on top immediatly. Rolling boil in 6 mins, total burn time 15 mins+. Slight breeze, chilled air, windshield used.

About Evernew
All our products are very high quality in terms of the material, the pressing process, the strength/durability and the finish.
The material are all made by Nippon Steel Corporation, the largest metal material supplier in Japan. We use TP35C JIS Ver.2 sheet metal Titanium, which is currently the best material in the world.
Regarding the pressing process, we use "Cold Press" method, where most of the Chinese products are made by "Heat Press" method lowering the raw material quality as well as the finish surface quality. Heat pressed Titaniums are more darker in color, sometimes very dark gray close to black, and the surface is not very smooth.
We use normal pressing machines, but the press speed and the temperature are totally controlled by skilled craftsmen.
The alcohol stoves and many of our products made by 0.4mm sheet are very cleanly made and the product quality stability is very high with less than 3% B-class products. We check every single products before being shipped.
But more than that, the 0.3mm Ultra Light collections are what Evernew only can produce at the moment. Many Chinese and even some Japanese brands are trying to produce 0.3mm products, but none of them have succeeded so far, with nearly 50% of B-class products.
Some are announcing that they have 0.3mm products in their lineup, but they are only the lids or partially used in the product and not fully applied.
