| Part of the new DD Superlight Range (range includes hammock and mosquito net). Pack size: 19cm x 11cm x 8cm The DD Superlight Tarp has 19 attachment points like their other tarps which allows it to be set-up in literally hundreds of different ways! It can be used as a hammock tarp, set-up on the ground as a 'tent', group shelter and many more uses! Weighing only 470g and packing up very small it is ideal for anyone looking to cut their pack weight down to an absolute minimum. Made from strong ripstop nylon with PU 3,000mm coating (completely waterproof even in the heaviest storms). Like all of their tarps it is fully waterproof and taped along the central seam. The Superlight Range is more expensive than their other products due to the higher cost of using the lightest materials. Plus of course every tarp we sell, arrives with a free digital download of The Tarp Video which will enable you to learn all the knots you require to pitch the tarp perfectly first time. 06 May 2021 | Michael Just what I wanted at a great price and quick delivery too. This review has not been appraised.
12 February 2021 | Marc I was a bit nervous about getting a tarp, as I wasn't sure I'd be able to set it up and tension it properly. So for me the best thing about this purchase was the video tutorial from Backpacking Light that comes with the tarp. It shows you all the knots you need and all the different ways you can set the tarp up. So after watching the video and trying out the knots a few times at home I headed for the woods and was able to get it set up perfectly first time. If you're a solo camper and wondering whether to go for this size or the smaller one, I would recommend this one. It provides a generous amount of cover for a hammock and a few possessions, and I think the other one would be too small. Note that while the tarp comes with guy cords, it doesn't come with the ridgeline cord for attaching the tarp between two trees, but that can be picked up at your hardware store for a a couple of quid. Usual great service from Backpacking Light. This review has not been appraised.
24 August 2020 | Anthony Well made good quality tarp, very light and packable, my go to tarp. wish you did the coyote brown as well This review has not been appraised.
29 June 2020 | Alan Spent a lot of time debating between the 3x3 and the smaller option. Glad I bought this one as it gives more flexibility for little weight/bulk penalty. Very happy with my purchase. This review has not been appraised.
22 August 2019 | Neal This was bought as my first ever tarp and was used on a bike packing trip. It packed down easily and kept the weight down. Easily fit two people under it and kept us both dry in torrential rain that lasted all night! 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
16 April 2018 | John A very lightweight tarp. Well made and in a sensible size This review has not been appraised.
13 October 2017 | Gareth I like this tarp, it seems well made, strong and lightweight... All things you want in a tarp really. My only slight niggle are that attachment loops (the attachment points themselves seem very strong). These loops may be fine but seem a little too lightweight. I will be sewing on some additional material to strengthen them so they don't run the risk of being worn through by friction with the ridgeline. It's not really a big issue, but certainly some think ng DD could have done in production with only sacrificing a little on the weight. All in all a good tarp that I would happily buy again, because the efforts put into addressing this issue is very little in the grand scheme of use This review has not been appraised.
11 August 2017 | Steve As you can see from all the other reviews, the service here is brilliant, and i experienced the same high standard. The DD superlight tarp has a good reputation and so far it has held up to this from my experience. The only thing is that the end ridgeline loops are slightly smaller and thinner material than the normal DD tarp, but so far feel strong and durable This review has not been appraised.
20 July 2017 | David The tarp is great and survived many set ups and plenty of rain. What it comes with is not so good. The guy lines - only 4 and too short, the pegs - only 4 and although light they're not great to handle with tiny heads and dull grey in colour can be lost easily, and the bag is way too small - manufacturer stuffs it into the smallest possible bag to make it look small so it will sell- but once you add the proper length and quantity of lines and pegs and then try folding and rolling it back up in the field (as opposed to folded and compressed dead flat in the factory) you need to find a bag at least 50% bigger. So buy it - it's a great tarp - then be prepared to get some paracord and a few pegs and find a new bag amongst your spare kit. Well worth the money! 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
04 May 2017 | Christopher Haven't used it yet, but after just looking at it, it appears extremely well made. Can't wait to try it! This review has not been appraised.
