The MSR Titanium Mug is a favorite with the fast and light following. Weighing a microscopic 50g, once you've used it you'll never go back to clunky plastic mugs. Take one sip from this svelte titanium coffee, soup, or whatever cup and you'll be tempted to throw out your best china. What is it like in use? The photo shows the cup holding boiling water on a cooker while I was doing the shoot. This is perfectly safe as it is a single wall construction so the mug won't explode! Once I had turned to heat off the handles were too hot to touch, but after a few moments I could remove it and hold it to my lips. The cup holds the heat, but not enough to burn your lips like an insulated mug. So if you were going solo and didn't need a large amount of water for food, just a brew, then have this on its own. In my case I'm keeping it in my Ti-Lite Mug, as once I've cooked the food in the Ti-Lite I'll pop this on the cooker for a cuppa. Nice! Weight: 50g

24 November 2014 | David Another great purchase from BPL. I use an MSR Titan Kettle, and the MSR mug fits inside really well. There is a small gap between the mug and the kettle, large enough to take a folding spork, firesteel, sawn-off Trangia handle that I use with the kettle (I removed its folding handles), AND a Vargo windshield. I use a Vargo Triad stove which fits inside the mug perfectly, leaving enough room for a few bits and pieces to make a brew with. If this makes it sound like the mug is too small to be of any use, its not - its just the right size for a decent brew. This now makes a great contribution to my lightweight stove set-up: I've got a mug that that I can use while the kettle is either in use or full of crud from its last use, and I now have somewhere sensible to pack away the mug rather than have it taking up space in my rucksack. When I need to I also use a Primus Express Spider remote gas canister stove - when the stove is folded up it fits snugly into the MSR mug which then fits into the stove pan with plenty of room for the firesteel, folding spork etc. The mug is also the perfect size for my MSR Mugmate - something I bought from BPL a few years ago and which has been in almost constant use ever since. 2 of 3 people found this review helpful.
