This is a hard one to describe, as obviously we produce the Honey Stove and want to be even handed about our product descriptions.
Firstly it is a one piece design, all hinged and folds cleverly. This means it opens with a shake, and very quickly wraps around the hexagonal base clicking into place.
The design is simple with a opening door to allow fuel to be slid into the grill once it is burning.
The top is fixed and there are slots to allow the heat press to escape beneath the base of the pot.
The fire grill is fixed at one level at the base, with breathing holes beneath on the side of each panel. As such is really does need to be placed upon a flat level surface, or flat protective sheet (which we always advise) to ensure unrestricted airflow.
It is made from Titanium and weighs an incredible 121g. The material is light and tough and will stand many years use.
As the size is fairly small sitting between the Evernew and the Honey Stove, the whole unit takes up very little space in the supplied bag.
How best to use it?
My initial thoughts on this unit is that it supports most little Meth stoves to provide an excellent windshield with the option to use solid fuel to cook by. As a wood burner the tilted side sections increase the intensity of the heat generated and a handful of fuel will bring a small pot of water to the boil quickly.
However the narrow diameter of the supporting hole does mean it is limited to being used with narrow pots and not broader pans, mess tins, or probably anything over 1lt capacity.
