Multi functional pair of poles ideal for travelling, hiking, adventure racing and backpacking.

Perfect for reaching the Via Ferrata, for Trail Running and for smaller hiking or trekking tours. The Micro Vario Carbon with the innovative Aergon grip which stands out by its edgeless shape for comfortable gripping and extreme light weight due to shell cavity construction.

The non-slip mid extension guarantees a variety of gripping options. Quick and easy to assemble and collapse with the Push Button Release Mechanism.

The Speed Lock - approved by TÜV Süd - enables a smooth change of length by 20cm. Perfect stability is guaranteed by a high-performance tensioning rope with Kevlar reinforcement and sturdy PE coating for lifelong protection of the fibres.

A spring in the lower shaft compensates the length automatically, thus keeping the rope in ideal tension all times.

Light but strong enough to be used as a shelter support and folds to a small enough length for most rucksacks.

Adjustable between 110cm and 130cm in length.

Minimum packed size 38cm.

So good I smiled
23 May 2018  |

When the poles arrived I was disappointed by the weight. It turned out that the box they were packaged in weighed about as much as the poles within: they are uncannily light. I am nearly 100kg (tall, not fat - honestly) and found the 130cm setting (my usual with Nordic poles) to be perfect. The long foam grips affords several ways to hold. The strap is comfortable and secures well. I admit to being flummoxed by the pole's locking mechanism at first, but it is very easy once you know. The internal cording is a great idea, making assembly very easy, and they are very compact, stowing easily on the side of a rucksack.
I would recommend these poles. I use Leki Nordic poles and wonder how they make money as they last for many years. Worth the money. If you get them I recommend you ensure the height adjustment mechanist is tight enough for your weight. There is a knurled wheel to tighten, which is best set this side of using them on the hills.

Really Pleased!
28 September 2013  |

I have used Leki for many years, had good service from a pair of Makalu. I like to use the poles on steep descents- easier on the knees, and I believe they are under-rated as a safety aid - perhaps preventing a turned ankle especially when walking alone as I generally do. These poles are brilliant, very light, the quality is excellent, they are stiff and strong. The mechanism to assemble the pole is easy to use and feels ultra secure, much more so than the pull and twist poles. The poles fold away to about 38cm, they sit perfectly in my rucsac bottle pockets and secured by the compression straps when not in use. Not cheap - but well worth it. Excellent service, delivered next day.

Impressive
22 September 2013  |

Bought these poles to replace a pair of Brasher carbon poles which had started to fail. Over the years I have had a number of poles which have all served well, but the standard screw tightening mechanism has failed long befgor the pole itself has shown serious wear of damage. This pair, with it's alternative locking mechanism looks like it will give longer service. I have only used them on 2 day walks so far, but I am impressed with their rigidity, and stability. They are comfortable and much easier to adjust to various lenngths during the day as the terrain alters. I am yet to use them on a multi day, but in these early days, very impressed. Will report back when they are older and lost their shine.
Great service as usual from the team at BPL
