The Trangia Spirit Burner is the original reliable bullet proof meths burner from years back, which hasn't changed in any shape of form since it was first designed. Why, because it does the job beautifully, so why should it?

Okay so at 120g it is 5 times heavier than most of our other burners, but it does have features which make it popular.

It has a large reservoir, so the burn time is well over 20 minutes.
It is provided with a screw cap, which will seal the unit and any remaining fuel for transportation. (Not long term storage)
It also comes with a simmer ring, which allows a reduced heat to be output.
It is sturdy, solid and chunky and make from brass so will last for many years.
It fits perfectly in our Honey Stove, either as a square or hexagonal cooking unit, giving alternative cooking fuels.

Using a flint and steel it is easy to light, and I've found a good puff will blow it out (although this isn't approved by Trangia). Failing that and inverted mug will starve the flame of Oxygen.

It does require a windshield and pan support (ie The Honey Stove) as this is just the burner only.

Lovely stove
22 August 2023  |

I bought this as a back up for heating up a kettle on my narrowboat as an alternative to bottled gas, and it’s served perfectly for this. But it’s also a beautifully designed and made object. I’m
Very happy with my purchase.

Usual service
19 May 2022  |

Not ordered from Bob and Rose for some time and I'm glad to say nothing has changed!

First class service continues.

Not had a chance to use the burner yet but it's a Trangia so don't expect any issues.

Bought to replace lost one
15 March 2021  |

I bought one of these past year and have somehow managed to lose it in our house or garage, so this was a replacement. Bought the original one so I can make myself a proper cup of coffee (and more perhaps) on walks or bike rides. Over the past year I have got more and more interested in outdoorsy/bushcraft stuff (it takes me back to "playing" as a child!!) and am looking forward to using this in the wild. Gone are the days of going to a cafe and paying good money for coffee when out on my bike. Lockdown restrictions have made me, in my 60s, more adventurous! By the way I found you through "Simon, a bloke in the woods" (YouTube).

Everyone already knows all they need to know about Trangia burners, so this is just some feedback about service, which is of course excellent and has been for years. Thanks a lot 👍

Trangia Spirit/Alcohol stove
15 May 2020  |

On the heavy side compared to many other spirit stoves but a sturdy and reliable stove. The flames from the ring of holes are not large enough. It's easy to extinguish the flame. It has the facility to successfully reduce the flame for simmering. For me, the screw top cap facilitating not having to pour the unused spirit back into the spirit container, which always results in some messy spillage, is the main facility that made me choose this stove as this assures no spillage of the spirit when the top is screwed on and the stove is packed in the rucksack, coupled with the fact that it fits into my Trangia Triangle pot stand and wind shield. It cooks slower and is quieter than my gas stove which suits me fine. This stove plus the fuel and the Triangle is lighter than my gas stove with my two small gas cans (one in use and one ready to change over when needed) my gas can legs and my titanium wind shield with 3 small ground pegs. So, I will be using this stove until something new and better comes along!
