If you already have a compact gas stove or even a folding Pocket Rocket this is the companion set to help you keep things to a minimum.
The 750ml pan is big enough for meals for one or two people at a push. (Most instant pack food meals require 300-400ml of hot water) The hot and cold ‘safe’ 450ml bowl can be used as a mug, or to hold whatever food you may be eating. The clip on draining lid fits both pot and bowl, which gives you options.
The ridged ‘grip’ around the pot makes it easy to hold when cool, however the pot lifter is the right tool to use when things get hot.
All that’s missing is a small lighter, a folding spork, small stove and a pot cosy and you have all you will need for a lightweight trip. Maybe some canister feet too if you wish to keep the stove stable.
The pot also will stack a small 100 gas cart (not supplied) along with everything else.
NB: The bowl is NOT suitable for direct heat.
MSR says: It’s only logical that as the leader in backpacking cookware, we would challenge our engineers to design even smaller and lighter sets to meet the growing demands for micro cook solutions. Delivering the essentials for wilderness cooking in smart, space maximizing designs, with room for a stove and fuel, these grab-and-go sets keep pack weight to an absolute minimum and are poised to become the top choice of backcountry minimalists.
