Expanding 16/14mm Walking Pole Extender/Link (Flick Lock)

I designed this product to be more flexible and practical than the 'fixed' longer Luxe T45 version.

It has dual uses.

It consists of a 40cm length of 16mm tube with flick-locks at both ends and a slightly longer 14mm section which slots into a 16mm tube to provide a variable expanding section of up to 50cm. However it packs down to 42cm to fit inside the pack.

First use

Just like the Luxe T45 it will extend a single flick-lock walking pole by slotting into either the standard 18/16/14mm or 16/14/12mm poles.

For example;
 
Standard pole - Pole 18mm handle, Pole 16mm mid section, '14mm section which then slots into the 16mm tube', Pole 14mm lower section.
 
Slim-line pole - Pole 16mm handle, '14mm section which slots into the 16mm tube', Pole 14mm mid section, Pole 12mm lower section.

Second use

If you use a 'pair' of flick-lock walking poles you can use one of sections to 'link' a pair together.

For example;

Standard pole - Pole 18mm handle, Pole 16mm mid section, Remove the 14mm lower section and use the 14mm link section to slot into the second Pole 16mm mid section, Pole 18mm handle.

This would leave you with a 'handle' at each end to support your shelter.

Slim-line pole - Remove the Pole 16mm handle from both poles and replace with the 16mm section. Therefore your pole would consist of 12mm lower section with tip, 14mm mid section, 16mm Link, 14mm mid section and 12mm lower section with tip.

This would leave you with a pole with a 'tip' at both ends.

In conclusion this product and the Luxe T45 do exactly the same thing. However this is adjustable and allows 'linking' of a pair of poles which the T45 does NOT.

NB:  Pole manufacturers have now started mixing 'flick-lock' and 'twist-lock' fittings on the same pole. This does confuse the issue, however we have the largest selection of expanders and links in the world and with careful thought one should solve your request. Most poles are still made from 18/16/14mm or 16/14/12mm sections.

These links and expanders will NOT work with any collapsable poles which use a permanent connection of any kind.

How to measure your pole diameter:
Remove lower pole section. Tear a strip of scrap paper a few centimetres long and wrap it around the solid top of the section, nearest to the plastic expander. Crease the paper with your finger nails where your thumb and forefinger touch. Then measure the distance between the two marks.
If the measurement is approx 44mm the pole is 14mm in diameter.
If the measurement is approx 38mm then the pole is 12mm diameter.
