This is the V4a bucket footprint/groundsheet.

Designed to fit the V4, F6 and Octapeak this will give you the option to not use the full mesh inner if you wish.

It is designed to be used independently of the inner, rather than 'as well' as either inner.

If you are looking for a groundsheet protector for either the solo or full inner please click here for the Tyvek full floor.

Each corner point has a long reflective cord to allow you to hook the cord over the exterior pegs on the shelter. Once you decide which cord length you require, simply cut the cord to length and seal the end over a hot flame. (Maybe use the removed reflective cord on the V4 mid-panel slider)

Each upstand uses a stiffend rod of 9cm depth to keep the sides erect.

Top Tip: When used in conjunction with any of the Hexpeak shelters we suggest you use the half tennis ball or pole mushroom at either end of the pole to (a) protect the floor and (b) protect the peak from abrasion.

215cm long x 185cm at the widest point by 9cm deep.

Weight: 450gm

HH: 4000mm

Could be much better

I love my Hex tent but this ground sheet is a bit of a let down. I don't understand why Luxe decided to size the footprint to cover two thirds of the floor, rather than half like the standard mesh inner. The consequence is that there is very little weight saved compared to the mesh, you loose the large cooking space which is one of the best features of the Hex, and, perhaps most problematic, the central pole has to go on top of the groundsheet, meaning that you can't properly tension the tent before clipping in the floor. This would be a significant issue in strong winds. I have given it two stars as it could be a good footprint for a large tarp.

Response:

Hard to answer this one. Most people are happier with a slightly larger footprint than the single inner, however I will pass onto Luxe your comment about no weight saved.

As for the pole being 'on' the groundsheet, we always recommend people use half a tennis ball at each end of the pole to spread the weight and prevent the pole sinking under tension. That or a motorcyle side stand plate, which does the same job.

This then allows you to 'pull back' the extra groundsheet and reveal a larger cooking space.

I've used this set up for 2 weeks in poor weather in Scotland and never had the pole sink, so it is worth keeping in mind as a solution for this and another other groundsheet uses.

Not just for Hex tents
30 October 2017  |

Purchased 22/10/2017 received 24/10/2017. to be used as a groundsheet for a Duo Tarp setup in a cave configuration. Used for the first time 27-28/10/17 performed brillantly. Well made durable piece of kit and great value for money The service from backpackinglight.co.uk was fast and first class as always.

A definite for bushcrafters
29 June 2017  |

I found the inner tent just a little to confined for my liking this bucket footprint gives a larger space and a lighter load if you can pitch between trees then frankly your swimming in space with the footprint.
Just for a size idea I'm 6,1 there's head room length ways believe if you sleep with your knees up your get in side ways as well.
Highly recommend to all bushcrafters and light weight nerds out there.
