The 2 person Peakarch is an exciting development in the excellent value for money performance lightweight series from Luxe Outdoor.
The shape may be reminiscent of the Saunders Spacepacker series which ceased production some 4 years ago and I’m sure it will appeal to many who have fond memories of the cavernous space and comfort it provided. In particular cycle tourers, backpackers and bushcrafters.
The Peakarch fly is made from a dual mixture of Siliconised/PU coated nylon and the complete package comes in just over the 2kg mark.
The inner takes up just over half of the floor area with plenty of space for 2 full length mats, which leave more than ample vestibule at the front for wet gear storage, cooking and the like.
There’s a clever little door at the rear of the inner, which allows access to an enclosed small storage area and will be ideal for poles and boots or similar to be tucked out of the way and not clutter up the main vestibule space.
It is pitched fly first with a few pegs so you can get out of the rain and sort yourself out.
There are copious amount of pegging and guy points which means it’ll be rock solid in most weathers and the strong 11mm pole will give you confidence to sleep no matter what. The 17 included pegs will ensure you will be stable throughout the night.
The wide door with a double ended zip gives plenty of access and of course. It is also provides a great view when taking in the surroundings from within the comfort of the shelter.

So far I have only put the tent up in the garden. Key criteria for me choosing the tent were: 1] putting up outer tent first. 2] be able to sit up properly inside 3] space for 2 people 4] under 2kg. This tent meets all these criteria.

My wife and I bought this for our 2016 TGO Challenge on recommendation from Bob as we were looking for a spacious but lightweight two person shelter.

Glad to hear it went well. I used the Hex Peak myself on the TGOC this year and I too had condensation due to the calm warmer still nights. All in all a reasonably dry crossing :)
