Wednesday, 17 June 2015 | Bob I'm not a great one for having too much of my ageing bod stuck outside of a snug abode for the night, so I bought this bivvy bag as a (very) reasonably priced guard against the weather on my occasional tarping trips. I say occasional - I am out for at least 2 x 2 week-long trips including Scotland in April/May, and nearly every weekend, some 2-nighters, sometimes just the one, all year round and therefore in all weathers - so am probably 'under canvas' (just doesn't sound the same and won't ever catch on, 'under nylon/polyester'!) 100 nights a year, so I do get to play with all the toys in my toy box although some might argue I have too many toys... I have yet to try this in severe weather so can't comment there, but I bought it mainly as it is a really decent size (zipped up it doesn't feel too claustrophobic, and is broad and deep enough in the chest area for a broad, deep bloke) without being too heavy, and because it is 2/3 'top', breathable, and 1/3 groundsheet which feels tough enough - you could use it to sleep on rather than in if the weather is right. It's a bit heavier than the stated weight, but not much. Whether it performs as well as bags 2 or 3 times the price, I will never know as this one works just fine! But maybe the pricier ones work better in marginal conditions. Yogabob. 21 of 28 people found this review helpful.

Thursday, 17 October 2013 | David I slept out in the Storm Bivy for about 5 nights altogether (with an Ascent 500 sleeping bag) and it did its job just fine. I can't claim that I've tested it in extreme conditions but it did rain a bit and the bag worked as it should. It was a bit damp on the inside when I woke up but that's expected from any waterproof bag. 22 of 25 people found this review helpful.
