| Drink Safe Systems have taken their very popular water filter technology and changed the shape to make a simple, light, easy to use straw system. Just 'suck and go'! Collect water from any source, limiting debris as much as possible, place it into a container, cup or plastic bag and use the straw to draw the water. Or simply lie or lean down to drink the water directly from the source. This is ideal for 'just in case' situations when you don't have the normal Travel Tap to hand, or have forgotten it. You never know when you might want to be reassured the water you are drinking is safe. With a filter life of 700 litres plus it will last you on hiking or travelling adventures. At least this way it takes up a minimal amount of space and is always at hand! Don't forget all this technology is tested and certified in the UK!

Specifications:
When using the straw Where water is turbid or sedimented good practice is to surface skim water or let allow sediments to settle in a container for 10 minutes before using your drinksafe system. The system has been tested up to 700 litres and proven to still remove contaminants in water however muddy water will severely restrict filter life expectancy, which in extreme conditions may procure 100 litres safe drinking water. In survival situations you can use it with brackish water but note that the system will clog with salts and a greater amount of sediment in the water. It is best to avoid and source moving water upstream. IMPORTANT: Testing or passing anything but freshwater (eg tea, coffee, juice, wine) will not provide evidence of filters ability to remove threat from disease causes that may be found in water harmful bacteria, protozoa, schistomas, viruses and anthrax that the UK Government spent over 3 months of continuous testing chemicals.

29 August 2017 | Dan Seems well built - daughter wanted to drink out of puddles- but would work fine on the moors with an extension tube - also comes with extra o ring and traditional tap connector light enough to chuck in your pack and not notice - great service as ever from backpackinglight as ever This review has not been appraised.
31 July 2014 | Vincent I use this straw for fell running. It worked well but I felt that the level of flow was quite slow and that I'd to suck pretty hard. Nether the less it's size means that it'll be in my bag ready for use. I like it. It's a nice piece of kit to carry for when I run out of water. 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.
23 January 2014 | Andy Haven't tested it yet - it's for a trip to Liberia. It looks good and is just the right size. Delivery was prompt and well packaged and the wine gums were a pleasant surprise 1 of 4 people found this review helpful.
