The Minipeak XL Pro is the latest product in the Minipeak series specifically requested by customers who require a snow skirt feature for winter camping. They also now come with different inners for cooler or warmer weather. That is the only difference between the Minipeak XL and Minipeak XL Pro which adds approx 120gms to the overall weight. The secret is in the simplicity, the durability and the flexibility of the shelter. It offers a simple 4 peg erection, use with or without the solo inner and a double door open ventilation for those hot muggy nights. The new Pro XL version now provides the same key features, adds even more height, width and space plus a unique stove jack, for those who wish to use it winter camping in conjunction with a small wood stove. Where the stove pipe exits the shelter a flue pipe collar is required to prevent melting of the fabric. However you place a stove inside at your own risk and we would always advise using a carbon monoxide alarm. A waterproof cap is provided to cover the stove jack during normal ‘non-stove’ use. This additional space, even though it comes at a slight weight penalty now provides a huge amount of storage area for panniers, rucksack, cooking and so on. Remember the inner nest also unclips from the top, so during the day this allows the whole floor area to be used for relaxation as required. Using the fly alone there is enough coverage for 3 adults. Idea for Bushcrafters, Cycle Tourers and Motor Cycle Touring. NB: Please note that although the fly height is 160cm we recommend the 197X pole over the 163X pole to allow for variations in the ground and to keep maximum tension. Top tip: Which ever pole support you use, please consider using a half tennis ball at either end or a pair of pole mushrooms, to protect the material and prevent the pole from sinking and losing tension in the shelter.
